I too want to purchase the Unwritten Tales and Critter Chronicles for Linux (just not steam), but there seems to not be any option to do that yet? Preferably in a generic tarball format.

For indie games, I like to buy directly from the developer when possible (not Steam) cause more of the money goes to them that way.

Is there any news on this topic?

I'd also be interested in getting TBoUT for Linux but not via Steam. I already own and have finished the game on Windows (retail). But I'd love to have the game for my primarily system, Linux.

Now, with the upcoming TBoUT 2, which as per Kickstarter you guys plan to release for Linux but DRM-free as well, my interest to get the first two games for Linux and DRM-free just got sparked again. Maybe adding the games as rewards for your Kickstarter backers would be an option?

Actually, thinking about it, getting the games for Linux as retail would be an even better idea, maybe in a The Book of Unwritten Tales 2 Special Edition.
