Gentoo Ebuild for Beta-Version
« on: 2013-09-09 09:01:51 »
Hi guys,

for all the other gentoo users: I've created an ebuild that should get BWK up and running on gentoo. I couldn't test the 32Bit version.

http:// supermaz.de /battle-worlds-kronos-0.4.3.4.ebuild

(I'm not allowed to post external links, so you have to remove the whitespaces in the URL)

Thank you for posting this ebuild, however on my system the deb converting process fails and I'm not yet sure why. I simply got around that by doing the conversion manually and editing the ebuild to use the finished tar.bz2 instead of the deb file.

Furthermore, in addition to the deps you'd written in the ebuild I had to emerge qtwebkit before the game's launcher would run. Still, after getting the launcher to run, it simply fails to patch the game on my system. I'm assuming this went without a hitch on yours?

Hi,

it could be that you downloaded an old ebuild. I changed this after the first update of Beta1 as the update didn't went through. The program xdelta was missing.

Hello!

No, xdelta is in the ebuild I downloaded as a dependency. Something is wrong when I try to patch the game, though:

xdelta3: target window checksum mismatch: XD3_INVALID_INPUT
xdelta3: normally this indicates that the source file is incorrect
xdelta3: please verify the source file with sha1sum or equivalent
"xdelta3: target window checksum mismatch: XD3_INVALID_INPUT
xdelta3: normally this indicates that the source file is incorrect
xdelta3: please verify the source file with sha1sum or equivalent
"
"Patch process failed."

I'm stuck with beta 0.4.3 of the game. I really wish they would put up a tar.gz / tar.bz2 file of the game data for download.

Unfortunately I just noticed that for beta you had to have paid 40 or more

I imagined with only having 1212 backers I would think they could manage including everyone in beta :O
